Sustainability
is sexy, after all…
It all started at the Farmer’s Market… In 2020, Preston Davitt, a wife and busy mom of two spent her Saturday mornings at the local Farmers’ Market. Inspired by the colors of the fresh produce, the arrangements of flowers and the people strolling the stalls, she began a series of “positivity posts” on her Instagram @prestondavitt. Each week, she would wear elaborate outfits to the farmstands as a way to thank the local growers for their products and fuel a creative outlet… People took notice, asked her where she found her ball skirts or beaded necklaces, and the idea for a business took form…
Originally from Asheville, NC, Preston started sewing at age eight and began collecting vintage clothing at age 15. She completed a double major in English Literature and Brown University. Prior to her return to North Carolina, Preston spent twenty years in Chicago and New York growing her love and knowledge of fashion, textiles and garment construction. Her new venture is a culmination of decades researching the history of fashion as well as being a keen observer of the up-to-the-moment-trends.
“Being fashionable and sustainable are not mutually exclusive. “
